The 14th round of the Bangladesh Premier League football kicks off today with table-toppers Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club facing Mohammedan Sporting Club at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. In another match, Abahani Limited will be looking to return to winning ways against Team BJMC after a heartbreaking 0-1 loss to arch-rivals Mohammedan in the previous match.Chittagong Abahani and Feni Soccer Club will fight it out at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong in the other match of the day with both sides looking for a crucial win in order to avoid relegation.
Jamal are currently topping the table with 31 points from 13 matches, six ahead of Abahani and eight clear of their today’s opponents Mohammedan.
A win today will be Jamal’s 10th victory in the league which will only make it harder for Abahani and Mohammedan to catch them in the title race.
Brothers Union and Muktijoddha Sangsad KC are in fourth and fifth position respectively with 19 and 18 points while defending champions Sheikh Russell are struggling in sixth place with 16 points but they have played one match less than the others due to their international involvement.
