The Bangladesh Cricket Boar on Wednesday confirmed the much-awaited home series against India in June, featuring three one-day internationals.
‘We are delighted to announce that India will be coming here for three ODIs in June,’ BCB’s media committee chairman Jalal Yunus told reporters in Dhaka. ‘We are looking forward to a very good and competitive series.’
This will be India’s first tour in Bangladesh since 2010 under the arrangement of Future Tour Porgramme. The BCB had been lobbying for the series for quite some time, but it was never sure as India’s international schedule had already been packed.
We are thankful to the BCCI [Board of Control for Cricket in India] for giving the confirmation. Hopefully it will be an interesting series.
It has been reported in the international media that India were considering sending a youthful squad as several key players requested for a break after the grueling Indian Premier League campaign.
India will visit England for a five-Test series after the Bangladesh tour.
According to schedule, India will arrive on June 13 and will play the three ODIs on June 15, 17 and 19 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium before flying to England next day.
