Andre Russell proved to be the nemesis of the Bangladesh A team once again as the all-rounder grabbed six wickets to lead Sagicor High Performance Centre to a three-wicket win in the second one-dayer in Barbados on Tuesday. Russell, who scored 132 off 56 balls in the first match of the series, picked up 6-28 as Sagicor dismissed Bangladesh A for a lowly 179 before they reached 180-7 to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Marshall Ayub and Naeem Islam both scored 45 and added 67 runs for the fourth wicket as Bangladesh A team recovered from 3-48 before a late-order collapse ended their innings in 46.5 overs.
Still the A team bowlers managed to make a game out of it reducing Sagicor to 103-7 at one stage.
Sagicor fought back to win the game thanks to Chadwick Walton (45) and Ashley Nurse (40) who added 77 runs in their unbeaten eighth-wicket stand.
Paceman Robiul Islam picked up 3-59 while Farhad Reza and Muktar Ali took two wickets each.
