Bangladesh-A team recorded their first victory on the West Indies tour when they defeated Sagicor High Performance Centre by six wickets in the first T20 at the Kensington Oval on Saturday. Chasing 152, Kayes gave his team a solid start by hitting a quickfire 50 off 21 balls as they reached 71 in within the sixth over. Kayes smashed five fours and four sixes before being stumped off Ashley Nurse.
Shubhagata Hom made 27 runs from 24 balls and Sabbir Rahman scored an unbeaten 41 as the A team knocked off the target with 20 balls remaining.
Earlier, Sagicor had lost five wickets inside the first 10 overs before opener Andre Fletcher lifted the innings with Andre Russell by putting on 75 runs from 44 balls for the sixth wicket.
Russell scored 48 from 26 balls with five fours and two sixes, while Fletcher made 57 off 43 balls with seven fours. Fast bowler Shafiul Islam took three wickets for 22 to restrict the hosts to 151-7.
