After casting a magical spell with Jadur Shohor last year, popular band Chirkut is putting in long sessions of making music,
as they aim for their next release at the end of this year.
‘We have fixed Laal-e Laal as a tentative title of the album, we may change in case we get a better one,’ said Sumi, the vocal of the band, to New Age.
Sumi also informed that the album would contain brand new tracks that they had been working on. Apart from these new songs, the album will also have few tracks from Chirkutnama, the band’s first ever album. ‘Our hit songs from Chirkutnama like Khajna, Bandhu, Ami Jani Na, Kata Kuti will be added to this album, and of course there will be the new songs like the title number Laal-e Laal,’ Sumi elaborated.
‘We are working hard on music composition of the album and using both acoustic instruments like banjo, flute and percussion along with the electrical instruments. I believe this combination will enhance the auditory appeal to our fans,’ Sumi said.
She also conveyed that the experience the band gathered from its performance in Norway last year has come in handy as far as creating quality music is concerned. ‘We experienced many new things about music through performing with Norwegian artistes. We will try to reflect what we learnt there in our upcoming songs,’ shared Sumi.
The current lineup of the band includes Emon on guitar and banjo, Pavel on drums and percussion, Pintu on vocals and flute, Sumi on vocals, and Rokon on bass guitar.
In addition to the CD, the songs of the new album will also be available on different online music stores.
