Bangladesh national cricket team signed off their preparations for the forthcoming West Indies tour with a day-night warm-up match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday. Opener Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque both slammed a fifty as Bangladesh Red, led by Mushfiqur Rahim, beat Bangladesh Green by seven wickets. Tamim, who showed some signs of returning to form in the first warm-up match, struck 70 from 66 balls and shared 117 runs with Anamul for the first wicket in the process. Anamul was unbeaten on 93 when victory was achieved.
However, he was allowed to carry on his innings until his century was completed. The right-hander finally made 103 off 108 balls.
Earlier, opener Imrul Kayes and all-rounder Mukter Ali scored a half-century each to help Green post 201 runs before they were all out in 44.1 overs.
Imrul, the only senior batsman to make a significant score in Thursday’s first warm-up match, returned to his scoring form with a crucial 59 off 79 balls amid a free-fall of wickets that saw Green losing their first four wickets for 64 runs.
Promising all-rounder Mukter later hit 61 in 74 balls to give the innings of Green some respectability.
Bangladesh will leave home for West Indies on August 13 to play three one-day internationals, two Tests and a Twenty20 International.
