Indigenous Manipuri Community observed ‘Ras Lila Festival’ at their two temples in Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar district on Thursday. Moulvibazar district Jamaat relaxed their 48 hour long shut down at Kamalganj upazila on Thursday, so that the Manipuri Community could observe the festival accordingly. Shib Bazaar Jura Mondop and Adampur Mondop, the two sites where the festival has been arranged in the area, held lively programmes that included kirton, rakhal dance, Radha dance, gustho lila and a discussion session that focused on Lord Sri Krishna.
An attractive village fair was also organised at the Manipuri temple premises to mark the occasion. Sellers from different areas brought in an eclectic collection of merchandise that mainly included handicraft items, sweets, toys and many more.
Every year, thousands of visitors from across the country gather in Madhabpur and Adampur temples to see the festival of indigenous Manipuri community. Kamalganj upazila administration took necessary security measures for the event that will conclude today.
