Bangladesh national cricket team in the preparation for the World Cup survived a scare as left-arm spinner Taijul Islam hurt his wrist during a training session in Mirpur on Monday. Taijul was taken to a nearby hospital for X-ray, which however did not reveal any fracture.
‘It was nothing serious,’ team manager Khaled Mahmud told New Age.‘He had gone through an X-ray, but it did not reveal anything.’
Taijul was rested from the training after receiving the bruise.
The incident occurred when Taijul was batting in the nets against pace bowler Shafiul Islam.
He is expected to resume training today unless his wrist gets seriously swelled, said Mahmud.
