Internationally acclaimed Bangladeshi pantomime artiste Partha Pratim Majumder is acting in a French film titled Open in the Night featuring crisis of a popular theatre company.
He will play role of the accountant of the theatre company while internationally acclaimed French actress and model Audrey Tautou, who achieved international recognition for her lead role in the 2001 film Amelie, will perform as a high official of the company, said a press release.
Open in the Night has been directed by famous French theatre actor and director Edward Boyer, who will also play the lead role in the film. Partha Pratim Majumder through a statement from France said that he was excited performing with the internationally acclaimed French artistes.
Earlier, Partha acted in several other Hollywood and French films including Hollywood film Infidel with Oscar-winning actor Jean Dujardin, Steven Spielberg produced film The Hundred Foot Journey and French film Out.
The Paris-based Bangladeshi artiste was a student of legendary French mime artiste Marcel Marceau. Blending western corporeal mime, pantomime, Chinese opera, Japanese traditional Kabuki and Noh, and Indian Kathakali, Majumder developed his unique style of mime.
One of the most celebrated pantomime artistes, Partha Pratim Majumder own the Moliere Award and Chevalier De L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (French Knight) respectively in 2009 and 2011.
