The three-day Robi Smartphone and Tab Expo will begin at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital on Thursday. Mobile operator Robi is organising the event with the aim of speeding up the digitalization in the country and to make mobile users familiar with the local and international technologies. State minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak is expected to inaugurate the exposition, organisers said at a press conference at the Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Monday.
Officials of several brands said visitors would be able to buy smart devices at special prices in the exhibition.
‘Bangladesh is the emerging market of smartphone and tab and Robi wants to be number one in the small-screen data business by 2016,’ said Ekram Kabir, vice-president for communications of Robi.
Robi is indeed proud to present this year’s smartphone and tab expo, he said.
Nahid Hasnain Siddique, head of operations of Expo Maker, said many renowned brands like Samsung, Symphony, Stylus, Goldberg, ZTE, Oppo, Huawei, Maximus, Sony, Rangs, Elite, Asus, Lenovo, MyCell, Twimns, One Plus would take part in the expo and showcase their products in one mega pavilion, 13 pavilions, five mini pavilions and 10 stalls.
The exposition will remain open from 10:00am-8:00pm and the entry fee will be Tk 20.
Schoolchildren and persons with disabilities would be entitled for free entry.
