National left-arm spinner Taijul Islam will not be available for further two weeks due to his failure to recover from jaundice, said Bangladesh Cricket Board officials on Wednesday.
Taijul had to sit out from the Elite Players Conditioning Camp from August 26 to take full rest after being diagnosed with jaundice and his participation in the camp was subject to the outcome of his next medical checkup.
‘Taijul will have to take rest till September 21,’ BCB physician Debashish Chowdhury told New Age on Monday.
‘We had his check which revealed that improvement was not satisfactory.’
The illness put his participation in two-Test series against Australia in jeopardy with the Aussies scheduled to arrive on September 28.
