Hosts Bangladesh failed to reach the final of the five-nation ICRC Twenty20 tournament for the physically challenged people despite defeating India by seven wickets in their last match at the BKSP on Tuesday. In the other match of the day, England beat Afghanistan by three runs to seal their berth in the final against Pakistan on September 10.Chasing a target of 115 runs, Bangladesh reached home with eight balls to spare thanks to a 80-run partnership in the third wicket between Amin Uddin and Shahriar Shamim, who scored 45 and 42 runs respectively.
Earlier, the home side restricted the Indians for 115-8 with skipper Alam khan grabbing 3-23 and Drupam Tirtho getting 2-15.
Kuanl scored highest 46 runs for India.
England snatched a thriller against Afghanistan when Callum Flynn bowled out Abdullah in the penultimate ball of the innings to reduce them to 148 — just three short off England’s 151-5.
Abdullah’s 20 off 11 balls raised real hopes for the Afghans after Mahmudullah and Zubair made a solid 52-run opening stand.
Mahmudullah, Zubair and Farid scored 29, 24 and 21 runs respectively for the Asian side.
Flynn made a lovely fifty for England after their openers Alex Hammond and Gordon Laidwan scored 34 and 21 runs respectively to set up the wining total.
