Paceman Abul Hasan grabbed five-wicket to help Islami Bank East Zone restrict Walton Central Zone below 400 runs on the second day of their Bangladesh Cricket League match on Wednesday despite a century from Sharifullah. In the other match of the opening round, Ariful Haque scored 115 runs as BCB North Zone plundered 392 runs before Fazle Mahmud’s 70 runs helped Prime Bank South Zone put 231-5 to trail by 161 runs in Rajshahi.
Abul finished with 5-68 and with a combined effort picked central’s last five wickets for 91 runs after they resumed on 303-5 at the Shaheed Chandu in Bogra.
Sharifullah, who was unbeaten on 89 overnight, made 113 to help Central Zone amass 394 before East Zone finished the day on 170-3.

Rabbi got one wicket and Nazmul Hossain grabbed the other wicket, the only one in the innings from spin bowling.
In reply, East lost three wickets for 88 runs but Liton Das and Alok Kapli did not allow any more damage and remained not out on 61 and 31 respectively.
Shahidul Islam bagged 2-46 and Sharifullah picked 1-34 for Central.
In the other match, Arif struck 16 fours in his innings and made a 140-run seventh wicket partnership with another overnight batsman Sanzamul Islam, who scored 46 off 66.
Sohag Gazi and Abdur Razzak grabbed 4-111 and 4-162 while Enamul Haque junior and Tawhidul Islam got one wicket apiece for South.
