The Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan on Friday basted the International Cricket Council for maintaining double-standard in regards to dealing with suspected bowling action.
The ICC reported, tested and banned Bangladesh’s Arafat Sunny and Taskin Ahmed in the middle of an important global tournament and a judicial commissioner also turned down the review appeal of Taskin.
Nazmul said that they have no choice left but to give the game’s global oversight body a reply with their performance in the field.
‘Probably this is for the first and last time this kind of incident happened,’ an infuriated Nazmul told reporters in Kolkata.
‘You cannot have any answer for this kind of hostility,’ said Nazmul, himself a director of ICC.
‘Didn’t they took step for Shoaib Akter for quick return or changed the rule for Muralitharan [Muttaih]. For us we saw nothing of that sort as far as ICC is concerned,’ he said.
Taskin returned home on Friday as ICC upheld his ban from bowling in international matches.
