Bangladeshi pace bowling sensation Mustafizur Rahman said he has been enjoying his time with his Indian Premier League franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad as he has become an adorable person to the personnel of the team. The 20-year old southpaw, who is adorably called as ‘Fizz’ in the team, expressed his experience so far in the IPL to an Indian website xtratime.in on Monday.Mustafiz has been a revelation in his maiden season of IPL as he has been bewildering the top batsmen in the circuit, picking up seven wickets in five matches, bowling extremely economical spells and proved himself as the corner stone of his side.
He has so far conceded just 115 runs from 20 overs, less than run-a-ball, a phenomenal achievement in a twenty20 tournament.
He bowled one of the most economical spells in the history of IPL against Kings XI Punjab on Saturday, bowling 17 dot balls in his four overs and took two wickets giving away just nine runs.
It was his magical spell against Punjab that gave Sunrisers a hat-trick of wins.
‘Yes they call me ‘Fizz’ in the team,’ said Mustafiz. ‘I am also the youngest member of the team. I am enjoying my stint here in SRH. My team-mates have been fantastic so far.
‘I have become a good friend of David Warner. Barinder Saran and I enjoy the greatest friendships. Both VVS Laxman and Muralitharan [Muttiah] have been guiding me like an elder brother.
‘I couldn’t have asked for anything more.’
SRH skipper Warner said after the post match presentation on Saturday that Mustafiz is perfect in bowling but language is a big problem as he does not know anything other than Bangla and the man from Sathkhira admitted the problem.
‘That’s been a real problem so far for me. It will take some time as I do not understand Hindi and English. My teammates also do not know Bengali.
‘So every time I am having an off time from practice and matches I am in front of the Google translator.’
Mustafiz’s happy time was evident as Warner, Laxman and his other team-mates showed their eagerness to learn Bangla to communicate with him and also some of their pictures, where Mustafiz is seen cordially accepted by SRH personnel, made the claim stronger.
But the man, who has been a mystery for most of the batsmen, as always said it was not an intentional thing and insisted that he will say sorry to Dhoni when they will meet and shall move on leaving that incident behind.
‘Well, I still maintain that I have not done it intentionally. But as things stand I have moved on leaving it behind me. But still I would like to say sorry to Dhoni for the incident when I meet him.’
