Paceman Shahadat Hossain was left waiting by rain to prove his mettle in a competitive match as he returned back to cricket coming out from the temporary ban of the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Tuesday. Shahadat was serving the ban of BCB as he was found guilty of abusing a child that he employed, caused him all sorts of trouble including staying in the jail for some days.
Shahadat found the mercy of BCB after receiving permanent bail from the High Court where they had no reservation from his appearance in competitive cricket matches.
Though he featured for Abahani Limited in their Premier League match against Gazi Group Cricketers, he did not have any chance to show his potential as the match was halted by rain after Abahani finished on 276-6 in 50 overs.
While Shahadat was waiting, young leg-spinner Jubair Hossain was dropped from the playing XI for the first time in this league as Abahani could not afford to back a leg spinner.
