Mushfiqur Rahman became the second Bangladeshi batsman to reach 6000 runs in the List A matches while playing for Mohammedan Sporting Club against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in Dhaka Premier League in Mirpur on Wednesday. Mushfiq came into batting from 18 short of the milestone and he achieved it in the 13th over in the innings before he guided his side home while chasing Jamal’s 187 with an unbeaten 66-run innings.
Mushfiq took 219 matches to reach the milestone with seven centuries and 37 half centuries.
Tamim Iqbal, who has currently 6172 runs, was the first Bangladeshi to achieve the feat earlier in the league.
Ace all-rounder Sakib al Hasan and Mahmudullah are in the third and fourth highest run getters among Bangladeshis in list A format with 5,324 and 5,130 runs respectively.
