Ace all-rounder Sakib al Hasan received his No Objection Certificate from the Bangladesh Cricket Board for joining Caribbean Premier League on Tuesday and he will leave for Jamaica on 26th June to play the tournament. ‘We have given him the NOC to join CPL on condition that he may be called back anytime as per the requirement of the national team,’ said Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the chief executive officer of BCB.
Sakib will feature for Jamaica Tallawahs in this edition along with Kumar Sangakkara, Dale Steyn, Chris Gayle and Andre Russell in the fourth edition of the league.
Sakib made a memorable debut season back in 2013 when he picked up 6-6, the best bowling figure so far in the history of CPL, for Barbados Tridents against Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel but involved himself in a complex situation in the next season.
The left-handed flew for CPL without NOC and BCB made him return from London while he was en route to Caribbean Islands.
He also had to serve some disciplinary actions. He even had some tussle with coach Chandika Hathurusinghe.
But this time round he applied for the NOC and BCB responded him positively.
Sakib will feature for Abahani Limited in their Dhaka Premier League match against Prime
Bank Cricket Club today and may have to play for the side if their halted match against Prime Doleshwar is held later in the week.
