Pacer Lucy o Reilly’s superb death bowling helped Ireland win over Bangladesh Women’s Team by six runs in the rain-interrupted opening Twenty20 internationals at Bready Cricket Club ground on Monday. Bangladesh were restricted to 48-6 in 10 overs chasing 54-8 runs as host took a 1-0 lead in the two-match Twenty20 series. Needing 10 runs to win in the last over with seven wickets in hand, Bangladeshi women’s lost their way as they scored only three runs while losing three wickets and conceding the match.
Visitors always struggled to hit boundary as they could not score a boundary after Ayesha Rahman was dispatched in the opening ball of their innings.
Fargana Hoque(24) was the only batter to reach double figure as Ireland always kept the pressure through bowling in tight line and length.
Earlier, Khadizatul Kubra picked 3-5 to help restrict the opponents. Opener Clare Shillington made highest 26 runs.
