Members of Bangladesh one-day international team, led by skipper Mashrafee bin Muratza, left
Dhaka on Saturday for three-match series against South Africa, beginning on October 15.
Mashrafee was joined by all-rounder Sakib al Hasan, who took a break
from the ongoing Test series against South Africa but made himself available for ODIs, batsman Nasir Hossain and rookie all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin.
A total of 12 players from the Test squad have retained their places for ODIs.
Among them batsman Mominul Haque returned to the side after 2015 World Cup while wicketkeeper Liton Das was handed a spot for the first time since November 2015.
Spinner Taijul Islam, pacer Subashis Roy and Shafiul Islam will return home after the Tests.
The ODI series will start in Kimberly before
Bangladesh play their next two ODIs at Paarl and East London on October 18 and 22.
Bangladesh will also play two Twenty20 internationals during their month long tour.
Sakib later will lead Bangladesh in two Twenty20 internationals.
