All four matches of the 19th National Cricket League ended in a draw with rain washing out final’s day’s play in at least one match on Monday.
Opener Shamsur Rahman scored 102 off 67 balls to help Dhaka Metro set up 274-run target for Chittagong, but the hosts somehow managed to avoid a defeat, having reached 97-6 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
Imtiaz Hossain struck 108 off 160 balls, his 10th first-class hundred as Sylhet, 221 all out in the first innings, reached 152-2 replying to Rajshahi’s 370 at Bogra for a draw.
Khulna reached 141-1 in a rain-hit final day at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajsshahi thanks to Mahadi Hasan’s unbeaten 88 after Rangpur had declared their innings on 317-9.
Not a single ball was bowled in the match between Dhaka and
Barisal on the final day at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium as the match ended in a draw.
Dhaka Metro v Chittagong
Chittagong resumed on 216-8 and added 45 runs to their overnight score
before they were all out for 261 runs.
Dhaka Metro, who got 108-run in the
first innings, later declared their innings at 165-3, thanks to Shamsur’s quick-fire century, which included eight fours and five sixes.
Chittagong nearly suffered a defeat replying to their target as pacer Saikat Ali and Naiduzzaman took two wickets each before bad light ended their victory push with the hosts on 97-6.
Mohammad Ashraful was named man of the match for Dhaka
Metro for his all-round performance when he
scored 84 runs in two innings and claimed four wickets, including 1-6 in the innings.
Rajshahi v Sylhet
Rajshahi declared their
innings on 370-7, adding 91-run to their previous day’s total of 279-3 as
overnight unbeaten batsman Junaed Siddique made 89.
Trailing by 149 runs, Imtiaz ensured Sylhet did not suffer any unexpected collapse in the second innings hitting 108 off 160 as they saw off the day to reach 151-2.
Mizanur Rahman of Rajshahi was named man of the match for his 143-run in the first innings.
Khulna v Rangpur
Only 33 overs of play was possible in Rajshahi due to rain and Khulna opener made the
best use of it to score an unbeaten 88, celebrating his call-up in Bangladesh A team as a replacement of Saif Hasan.
Thanks to his 135-ball innings Khulna scored 141-1 to achieve a draw after Rangpur took 99-run lead in the first innings Jahid Javed of Rangpur was named as man of the match for his brilliant 115 runs in the first innings
