Rashad hussain, Biden’s special envoy visiting Bangladesh, a Hafez in the Qur’an

Currently, US President Joe Biden’s Special Envoy for International Religious Freedom Rashad Hussain is visiting Bangladesh.
Rashad, an American of Indian descent, who was nominated as the Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom by President Joe Biden, won Senate approval in an 85-5 vote in December last year. Hussain is the first American Muslim to hold the position.
Hussain also served as the US special envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Strategic Counterterrorism Communications, and deputy associate White House Counsel during the Obama administration.
It’s known to many, he played a number of important roles in the administration of former President Barack Obama. But, many may not know, Rashad is a Hafez (someone who has completely memorized the Qur’an) in the Qur’an.
According to a 2010 report by the world-renowned US magazine Forbes, Obama stated in a speech in Cairo, Egypt, in June of the previous year (2009) that Rashad was Hafez in the Qur’an (someone who has completely memorized the Qur’an). In order to give Rashad various important posts, Obama had to face the cannon of the opposition. However, Obama has always identified Rashad as his close confidante.
As an envoy, Mr Hussain worked with multilateral organizations such as the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and United Nations, foreign governments, and civil society organizations to expand partnerships in education, entrepreneurship, health, international security, science and technology, and other areas.
Prior to joining the Obama administration, he served as a judicial law clerk to Damon Keith on the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and was also an associate counsel to the Obama-Biden Transition Project.
Mr Hussain holds a law degree from Yale Law School and has a master’s degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies from Harvard University.
