The 55-year-old, Md Balayet Sheikh, has qualified in the admission test of Varendra University for the academic session — Fall-2022.
Balayet proved that age cannot be a barrier to education as he got the successful passed the entry test of Journalism, Communication and Media Studies at the Varendra University.
Balayet said, “I got the chance to get admitted at Varendra University. I am happy that my dream came true.”
“I had a belief that I would become successful today or tomorrow. I just did hard work to fulfill my dream. I will take preparation for the admission after a discussion with my mother,” he added.
Balayet from Mawna in Gazipur had dreamt of studying at Dhaka University and sat for this year’s admission test but he could not do it due to many obstacles.
In 1983, he first had taken preparation to sit for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination but could not fill up registration due to lack of money.
He tried again to sit for the SSC examination in 1988 but failed to sit the exam for flood across the country.
After months, he started his career as a photographer. Now, he is Gazipur’s Sreepur correspondent of Daily Karatoa. Belayet is now a father of two sons and one daughter.
