Due to the high volume of people traveling between India and Bangladesh, the Indian Railways have erected two more ticket booths at Kolkata station.
The demand for train tickets has increased dramatically since the drop of Covid-19 infections, reports The Daily Star quoted an Indian railway official as saying .
The two new ticket windows will serve passengers on the Maitree Express, Bandhan Express, and Mitali Express, which operate between the two countries.
For those taking the train between India and Bangladesh, there are now four dedicated ticket windows.
He added that the counters are open every weekday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (local time), which would help with the increased demand expected after the pandemic’s decline.
The Maitree Express goes between Kolkata and Dhaka, the Bandhan Express links Kolkata and Khulna, and the Mitali Express links New Jalpaiguri and Dhaka.
