Bengaluru traffic woes are well known. This traffic gridlock has turned out to be a “bonus” for a groom who just got married. He fled away from the car during a traffic jam in the tech corridor of Mahadevapura, the day after the wedding as he was driving home with the bride, Times of India reported.
Following the filing of a complaint on March 5, police are attempting to nab the fleeing groom.
The report claims that the pair got their car stranded for ten minutes close to Pai Layout while they were returning from a church visit the day after their wedding.
The husband, who was seated in the front seat, suddenly opened the door and fled. His wife was equally as shocked as he was and rushed out of the car to try and catch up with him, but she was unable.
The wife, 22, told The Indian Express that the man married her on February 15. When he looked depressed, the woman asked him about it the next day. He told her he was being blackmailed by his ex-lover, who lived in Goa. The wife assured that man that she would stand by him and informed other family members of his predicament. They all were ready to stand with him, she said.
“Despite my assurance, I do not know why he ran away,” the wife said.
The bride said her husband helped her father’s business in Karnataka and Goa.
