Md Aminul Islam has been elected president and JMA Hannan general secretary of the Pharmacy Graduates’ Association, Bangladesh in an election on Monday.
The election was held during the organisation’s annual general meeting at the Engineering Institutions Auditorium in Dhaka, said a press release.
Prof ABM Faruk, former Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Dhaka University, attended the event as chief guest.
Mohammad Ishtiak, outgoing president of the association, presided over the programme.
Other elected office bearers include Prof Samir Kumar Sadhu as vice president, Md Nazmul Hossain as joint secretary, Dr Md Raihan Sarker as organising secretary, Md Harun-Or-Rashid as finance secretary, Prof Dr Sheikh Jahir Raihan as office secretary, Md Azizur Rahman as publicity secretary, and Mehedi Hasan Tanvir as cultural affairs secretary.
Besides, Shamim Alam Khan, Dr Razia Sultana, Aminul Islam Chowdury, Dr Kishore Majumder, Sadek Ahmed Saikat, and Md Rasheduzzaman Sarder have been elected members of the executive committee.
Established in 1974, Pharmacy Graduates’ Association, Bangladesh is the national organisation of Bangladeshi pharmacists having at least a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from any recognised university at home and abroad.
