Dr. Muhammad Yunus has opened a new waiting lounge for expatriate workers and their families at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The lounge was inaugurated after his return from the COP29 climate conference in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Dr. Yunus mentioned that he had previously opened a lounge for expatriate workers before his trip to Azerbaijan.
This new lounge is specifically for the relatives of expatriates, providing them a comfortable space.
He encouraged feedback from the relatives to improve the lounge’s comfort and facilities.
Dr. Yunus expressed his happiness in opening this lounge for the families of expatriates.
The lounge features a waiting area, a baby care room, prayer spaces for men and women, and an affordable cafeteria.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh has organized this spacious lounge on the second floor of the airport’s multilevel car parking area.
This initiative aims to assist expatriate workers and their families who arrive early for flights from distant regions.
On November 11, Dr. Yunus also opened the “Probashi Lounge,” the first of its kind at the airport, for migrant workers to rest and enjoy subsidized meals.
