James, legendary rock singer from Bangladesh and leader of Nagar Baul will perform in Saudi Arabia.
He received a special invitation from the Saudi government for this event.
The concert is planned for November 22 at Al-Suwaidi Park in Riyadh. This performance is part of the “Bangladesh Culture” segment of the “Riyadh Season.”
The “Riyadh Season” is a cultural festival that highlights global talent and promotes international connections.
Since 2018, Saudi Arabia has relaxed entertainment rules, allowing cinemas to reopen and events like festivals, concerts, and fashion shows to take place.
The “Riyadh Season,” organized by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Media, showcases artists from nine different countries including Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan.
The event started on October 12 and will last for 45 days. It is set to conclude on November 30.
The festival “Bangladesh Week,” will take place from November 20 to 23.
Each country involved gets a week to present its music, dance, and traditional food.
Nagar Baul band manager, Rubaiyat Thakur Robin, told Prothom Alo, “This is our first time performing in Riyadh, thanks to the Saudi government’s invitation. The show will be free for attendees, and we expect a fantastic turnout. We welcome all Bangladeshi expatriates to join us.”
