Abahani Limited kicked-off their campaign in the King’s Cup in Bhutan on a winning note when they beat Assam Electricity Ltd of India 1-0 at the Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu on Sunday. Guinean striker Ismael Bangoura scored the all important goal for the Bangladesh Premier League runners-up in the 20th minute. Abahani take on Ugyen Academy of Bhutan on Tuesday in their next match.
Earlier on Saturday, the BPL champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club got off to a flying start by thumping local team Druk United 3-0.
