Abhik Dev won the top position in a talent hunt contest to search promising and talented Tagore artistes titled ‘Nobo Gaan-e, Nobo Pran-e’. Sumaiya Imam Ima and Mostafizur Rahman Turjo consequently secured the first and second runner-up positions of the contest. Channel i, in association with British Council and Grameenphone organised the contest. The first three winners were selected in the grand finale held on night, June 22. The top six contestants of the race— Abhik Dev, Sumaiya Imam Ima, Mostafizur Rahman Turjo, Lalita Biswas, Dweepanjal Mukherjee and Uhaising Marma performed there. Noted Tagore artiste Rezwana Chowdhury Banya was the chief judge of the contest, while other renowned Tagore artistes Sadi Mohammad and Papiya Sarwar were the additional judges for the grand finale. Sowmik Datta was also present as the special judge on the occasion. The first champion of this competition will get a chance to have a study tour in the Tagore Research Centre at Datington Hall in England and also to visit some memorable places of Rabindranath Tagore’s in England. The rest two of the top three will be offered a three-month music course at Shantiniketan of India.
