Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury has called upon all to join the ongoing anti-corruption drive for turning it into a social movement.
“People who think the movement does not have its appeal like previous are wrong and the drive will not be halted for them,” he said while addressing a seminar on checking corruption organized by district Corruption Prevention Committee at the Town Hall yesterday.
Deputy Commissioner Abdul Ahad also spoke in the meeting with committee vice president Prof Nurunnabi Chowdhury in the chair.
The ACC Chairman also expressed his dissatisfaction over the corruption prevention committees across the country for not doing their jobs properly.
Terming the anti-corruption movement as a tough job, he stressed the need for participation of all to successfully carry on the duty.
Hasan Mashhud said corruption is a “national problem” and people will have to come forward to stand against it. “Common people want to stamp out corruption from all level,” he said.
