American International University-Bangladesh renewed its Memorandum of Understanding with the Bangladesh Cricket Board on October 1 and became the official education partner of the BCB for a further three years, said a press release.
Under the MOU, AIUB will provide educational training on short-term courses of English language, leadership, cultural awareness and computer fundamental knowledge for the national team players and
players from the Sahara-BCB Academy, Pace Foundation, Uunder-19 and Under- 17 teams, women’s national team along with coaching staff and potential management staffs.
After completion of the course, six of them will be awarded full scholarships and get enrolled in undergraduate/postgraduate programmes at AIUB.
For developing computer skills, AIUB has agreed to set up a computer lab at its own cost at the National Cricket Academy at Mirpur.
In return, the BCB will give six AIUB students to do internship at their management office each year.
AIUB’s Abdul Kader Nazmul, director of under-graduate programmes and coordinator of sports, and BCB’s acting chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury signed the MOU on behalf of their respective organisations.
