Communications minister Obaidul Kader on Wednesday said the Awami League- led 14 -party grand alliance would be extended after Eid-ul-Fitr. “I came here under the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Our party president said that AL- led- grand alliance will be extended and Bangladesh Tarikat Fedaration (BTF) will be included in the alliance,” Kader said this after attending an Ifter Party organised by BTF in the city.
“We hope that we all together will be able to build a non-communal Bangladesh with the sprit of our great Liberation War,” the communications minister said.
Speaking at the occasion Forest and Environment minister Hasan Mahmud said the country is passing through a transitional period. He also accused Jamaat-e-Islami and Hefazat-e-Islam of misinterpreting Islam.
He also said that a certain quarter was hatching conspiracies to foil the next general elections in a bid to establish an undemocratic government in the country.
However, he called upon all Olama Mashayeks and religious people to be united to save Islam and democracy in the country.
Addressing the Ifter Party, the Junior Home Minister Shamsul Haque Tuku alleged that Jamaat and Hefazat-e-Islam was creating anarchy in the country in the name of forging movement to establish Islam.
The state minister said they (Jamaat-Hefazat) want to change the country into a militant state but eventually they would not be successful. At the same time he called upon all to unite to foil their evil attempts to make the country a failed state.
