For some strange reason, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is silent over the spot fixing issue, rocking the country over the past few weeks. After the BCB president, Nazmul Hassan Papon, met Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) members, it was expected that he would disclose something, as names of the country’s top cricketers had come up. But that did not happen. Top BCB officials expressed their helplessness as they were unaware of the goings-on behind the scene. BCB media and communication committee chairman Jalal Younus could only confirm that the board chief met two members of the ACSU. He, however, could not say where the meeting had taken place. “As far as I know, the president had a meeting with ACSU members, but I don’t know where the meeting was held. The president didn’t utter a single word regarding the outcome of the meeting,” Jalal said.
He also confirmed that the ACSU members had left the country after meeting the BCB boss. The ACSU team would visit Bangladesh again for further investigation. At a press conference on Tuesday, the president would disclose the outcome of the meeting.
