Some AL leaders who were ministers previously but were not included in the immediate past government have been made ministers in the new cabinet.Among them, Amir
Hossain Amu has been made the industries minister, Tofail Ahmed the commerce minister and Mohammad Nasim has been made the health minister. Amu and Tofail were
sidelined apparently for their ‘reformist role’ during the 1/11-era. And they did not get any portfolio in the immediate past grand alliance government of AL following
its landslide victory in 2008. Engineer Mosharraf Hossain of Chittagong, who was the state minister for civil aviation of the 1996-2001 AL government, has been made
public works minister. Anwar Hossain Manju, chairman of a faction of Jatiya Party, who was a minister in the 1996-2001 AL government, has got the charge of the forest
ministry.
