Another accused on remand
The chief judicial magistrate court on Monday granted a five-day remand of another accused in Tanvir Mohammad Tawki killing case.
Investigation officer of the murder case ASP Robiul Islam of RAB-11 submitted a prayer before the court seeking ten days for remand of Saleh Rahman Simanta and the court granted five days.
The murder case earlier was investigated by officer-in-charge of Narayanganj sadar model thana SM Monjur Kader, who arrested Simanto. Since then Simanto was in Narayanganj jail.
An accused of Tawki murder case Yusuf Ali Liton on August 31, 2013 had given confessional statement to the court stating that he and four others including Simanta killed Tawki at Simanto’s Dopapatti house in the town on March 6, 2013.
Investigation authorities had been changed on June 10 this year by a higher court order.
Tanvir Mohammad Tawki, 17, a meritorious student and son of cultural personality Rafiur Rabbi, went missing on March 6, 2013 and police recovered his body from a canal of Kumudini welfare trust, west bank of the River Shitalakhya under Narayanganj sadar model thana on March 8.
Tawki’s father Rafiur Rabbi on March 8 filed a murder case with police against unknown criminals and later he submitted a suspect list to police super.
The arrested two are on the suspect list.
