Anwar Hossain Manju, the chairman of a faction of the Jatiya Party, has been appointed an adviser to the prime minister with the status of a minister.
The cabinet division issued a circular in this regard on Sunday, signed by Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Iftekhar Haider. With the inclusion of Anwar Hossain Manju, the number of advisers to the prime minister now stands at 11.
Former ministers Shafique Ahmed and Dilip Barua and Jatiya Party leader Zia Uddin Ahmed Bablu were also made advisers to the prime minister last week, after the formation of a 29-member all-party interim cabinet on November 18.
