Model turned actor Apurbo will perform today in the Eid special teleplay titled Nirbak Bhalobasha, written and directed by Badruzzaman Shubho, which will be aired on Maasranga Television at 10:30pm today.
This is one of the 15 teleplays that Apurbo, who has attained immense popularity as a romantic hero in small screen, acted during the Eid festival on different channels. Apurbo, who usually plays the lead roles in Chayanika Chowhdury’s teleplays, has performed in seven romantic plays made by his favourite director. He has also acted in a number of plays directed by Ferdous Hasan, BU Shuvo and SA Haque Alik.
‘You Got the Look’ (2002) title winner Apurbo says that he enjoys his image as a romantic hero in the small screen. ‘I love my work and I’m happy with who I am,’ he said.
‘I’ve developed my career through a lot of hard work. While enacting a role, I always try to visualise what I would do in a real life scenario to portray the character and scenes realistically,’ he added.
However, Apurbo is breaking his stereotype image. In an upcoming film, the small screen actor will emerge as an action hero. ‘I’m going to launch my career in the film industry through my debut role in Ashikur Rahman’s upcoming film Gangster. I’ll be playing the role of a gangster named Shaon and the viewers will see me fighting with guns,’ the actor said.
‘I’m really excited about acting in a romantic action film. It will help me diversify,’ Apurbo added. ‘I also liked the story of the film. The director and the co-actors are also very skilled. So, I believe the film will earn very good responses from the viewers,’ hopes Apurbo.
