Promoted Arambagh Krira Sangha held Brothers Union to a 2-2 draw in their Bangladesh Premier League match at Rafikuddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Tuesday.
With the second draw in four matches, Arambagh remained in seventh position of the points table with five points while Brothers were second from bottom with three points from the same number of outings.
Midfielder Najmul Islam Russel gave Brothers the lead in the sixth minute of the game with a thunderous side volley.
After conceding the goal, the Federation Cup runners-up, Arambagh, tried their best to make the scoreline level and that paid off when Nigerian forward Kester Akon headed home in the 25th minute from a corner.
Arambagh continued to press hard to take the lead and in the stoppage time of the first half, they took a deserved lead when Jafar Iqbal headed home from Mohammad Abdullah free-kick.
Mannaf Rabbi saved the day for Brothers by scoring with a booming low shot from inside the box after a nice one-two between him and Nkowcha Kingsley in the 69th minute.
The fourth round of the League ends today with the match between Uttar Baridhara and Rahmatganj Muslim friends Society at the same venue.
