The army never takes part in any operation upon the advice of a civilian, counsel of former BNP leader Abdul Alim said at the International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) on Wednesday. Defence counsel Advocate Ahsanul Huq Hena said this during the cross-examination of
prosecution witness-23 Abdul Hye against Alim.An altercation erupted in the chamber when the other defence counsel Advocate Tajul Islam added that not only the Pakistani army, army everywhere in the world never acts on the civilians’ advice.
The other judge Shahinur Islam then asked Tajul to sit down as Hena was conducting the cross-examination.
Tajul then said that he was also the counsel of Alim.
