A Bangladesh army officer went missing in the Sangu River while taking a bath at Tarasa in Rowangchhari upazila of Bandarban on Sunday.
The victim was identified as Lieutenant Tanvir, deputy commander of Tarasa army camp.
Regional commander Brigadier General Syed Siddique said Tanvir along with three other army personnel went to the Sangu River, 15 kilometre off the district town, for taking a bath.
However, Tanvir was washed away by strong current around 11:30am.
