The show titled Ways of Seeing features 42 artworks by 15 local and six foreign master artists in various mediums including watercolour, oil, and acrylic along with a number of prints.
The show has been organised by the art collector Durjoy Rahman Joy. Noted artist Quamrul Hassan’s watercolour painting Two Women is on display at the exhibition. The painting created with simple strokes of brush depicts two female figures absorbed in an intense conversation.
Shafiuddin Ahmed’s soft-ground aquatint painting Receding Flood, on the other hand, might dazzle the eyes of the visitors with its bright colour composition. The painting shows a labyrinth of intertwined images of boats, rivers, trees, and hills.
An iron rail bridge on Iowa River has been depicted with details by Abdur Razzaque in his ink and watercolour on paper painting titled Bridge on Iowa River.
Internationally acclaimed artist Shahabuddin has captured the forces of mother nature beautifully in his oil on canvas painting Taureau 2, which depicts a fierce bull in attacking pose. The curved, fearsome horns, and the vigor projected within the muscles of the great beast would create a sense of fear and caution in the minds of the visitors.
