ATN Bangla chief adviser Saiful Bari died of old age complications at a city hospital on Tuesday morning. He was 77. Saiful Bari, who had been undergoing treatment for prolonged illness, including cancer, breathed his last at LabAid Hospital around 5:00am, said Rafiqul Islam, newsroom editor of ATN Bangla. Bari, also a veteran journalist, was born in Bogra in 1936.He left behind his two daughters and a host of relatives, well-wishers and colleagues to mourn his death.
President Abdul Hamid on Wednesday expressed deep shock at the death of Saiful Bari In a message of condolence, Abdul Hamid said the death of Saiful Bari is a great loss to the country’s media.
The president prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also expressed deep shock at the death of veteran journalist and noted media personality poet Saiful Bari.
