The defeated mayoral candidate Advocate Azmat Ullah Khan said, a free and fair election was held. I have already accepted the result. He said, the opponent was used some false propaganda including religious issue and used black money in the election. However, I did not refuse the people’s mandate. I always accept their judgment. He was expressing his reaction after announcing the result of the election at his residence in Tongi.
He also said that the result of four city corporation that was held previous have an impact in the Gazipur city poll. “What I have done for the inhabitant of Tongi in 18 years, they have seen. I would like to observe development in next five years”, he added. However, he also wanted to help Mannan at any situation if Mannan wants.
