As in the previous years, the satellite television channels will celebrate Pahela Baishakh, the Bangla New Year by telecasting special dramas, films, tele-films, magazine, dance and music programmes upholding the spirit of the New Year.
Channel-i
Channel-I, as in the previous years, will telecast Baishakhi celebration programme live, to be presented by Chhayanaut today at 6:00am from Ramna Batamul. The channel will also telecast Bangla New Year celebration programmes live from TSC, Charukala Institute and also from Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar.
Channel-I will arrange the world premiere of the film ‘Brishti Bheja Akash,’ directed by Sohanur Rahman Sohan and produced by Impress Telefilm, at 2:35pm. Mousumi, Ferdous, and Shakil Khan will perform in the film.
Special drama ‘Prarthana’, directed by Monirul Islam Masum, will be aired at 7:50pm. Mir Sabbir and Sweety will perform in the play.
A special Baishakhi adda will be aired at 9:35pm.
ATN Bangla
As part of the special programmes ATN Bangla will telecast Baishakhi celebration live today at 6:00am from DC Hills in Chittagong. Popular jatra-pala titled ‘Ganga theke Buriganga’ will be screened at 12:15pm.
ATN Bangla will arrange the television premiere of the full-length film ‘Rupantar’, scripted and directed by Abu Sayeed. Ferdous, Shakiba, Jayanta Chattapadhyaya, Shuvash Dutta, and Shatabdi Wadud, among others, will perform in the film.
Magazine programme ‘Panch Furan’ will be telecast at 7:50pm while the special drama ‘Haalkhata’, scripted by Brindaban Das and directed by Syed Awlad, will be screened at 8:45pm. Abul Hayat, Wahida Mallik Jolly, Chanchal Chowdhury, Pran Roy, Humayra Himu and Alvi, among others, will perform in the play.
NTV
The television channel NTV will air a concert on Baishakhi celebration live from Pabna today at 8:00am. Popular singer Momtaj, Closeup singers Liza, Saju, Apu Shashi and music band Soles will perform in the concert.
NTV will also telecast the concert ‘Nokia Baishakhi Music Mela’ live at 4:30pm. Popular music bands Miles, Feedback, Dalchhut, Artcell and Arnab will perform in the concert.
Special drama ‘Naishabder Ghor’, scripted and directed by Masud Hasan Uzzal, will be aired at 9:00pm. Mahfuz Ahmed and Shrabanti will perform in the play.
Bangla Vision
Special music ‘Ami Banglar Gaan Gai’ will be aired today at 5:20pm while a programme of recitation ‘Baishakhir Pangtimala’ at 6:20pm. Bangla Vision will telecast a dance programme ‘Taak Duma Dum Baje Dhol’ at 8:15pm, and band music show at ‘Live With’ at 11:25pm.
Desh TV
A programme of pala-gaan titled ‘Arbula Sundari’, performed by Islam Uddin Palakar, will be aired at 11:30am. A recitation programme of poems ‘Hey Rudra Baishakh’ will be telecast at 1:02pm. Popular recitation artistes Shimul Mustafa, Mahidul Islam, Hasan Arif, among others, will recite poems in the programme.
A music programme of five major Bengali poets titled ‘Naba Anande Jago’ will be aired at 7:45pm.
For the first time the popular novelist and director Humayun Ahmed will anchor the special programme ‘Nuhash Pallite Baishakhi Jalsa’ to be aired at 8:45pm.
The play titled ‘Jantra-na’, scripted by Animesh Aich and directed by Mostak Ahmed Titu, will be telecast at 9:30pm.
