Bangladesh ‘A’ team will start their campaign in South Africa tour today when they take on Irene Villagers Club in the first of their two one-day matches against the side at Pretoria.
Bangladesh ‘A’ will also play a three-day game against the Pretoria-based Irene Villagers Club and a one-day match against Gauteng Strikers before travelling to Zimbabwe for three one-dayers and two four-day games against their local counterparts.
Manager Habibul Bashar said that the players, particularly the bowlers, were enjoying their time in South Africa as they are eager to bowl in the grassy wickets at Irene Villagers Club ground.
‘We need to start positively as it will help to build the momentum,’ Bashar told New Age on Sunday.
‘Though we are not sure of our opponents but still it won’t be a cake walk and we all know that.
‘We practiced here for three days and we know what to expect from here and boys are preparing accordingly,’ he said.
