The fourth edition of the Bangladesh League will start in the last week of December at the Birshreshtha Shaheed Mostafa Kamal Stadium while the second edition of the Super Cup will be held in April next year at the Bangabandhu National Stadium after the conclusion of the ICC Cricket World Cup.
The decision was taken at a Bangladesh League committee meeting at the BFF House yesterday.
“The meeting has decided to start the professional football league from December 27 and finish its first-leg in the first week of March and keep the second-leg on suspend following Bangladesh’s international commitment in the AFC Challenge Cup as well as the mid-term transfer window of the Bangladesh League,” said Bangladesh Football Federation general secretary Al Musabbir Sadi yesterday.
“The second-leg of the league will resume after the completion of Super Cup, which will start from April 5 at Bangabandhu National Stadium,” added Sadi.
He also informed that sponsors for both of the meets have been confirmed and that the Super Cup would be held in line with sponsors’ willingness to hold it the BNS after the ICC World Cup.
