Bangladesh may have the opportunity to host some matches in the next edition of the Indian Premier League, with an inspection team due to arrive next week to assess the facilities, Bangladesh Cricket Board officials said on Friday. The IPL inspection team will visit the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, the Fatullah stadium in Narayanganj and the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong during their short visit.
‘We had prepared the three venues keeping the IPL people in mind,’ said Abdul Baten, the BCB’s grounds and facilities manager.
The IPL tournament committee has yet to announce the date for the seventh edition, but it is likely to be held after the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh from March 6 to April 16, 2014.
