Bangladesh Cricket team led by newly appointed Captain Shakib Al Hasan will take on New Zealand Cricket team led by Daniel Vettori today in the third One Day International (ODI ) game of the five-match Micromax Cup at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The match starts at 9.00 AM BST (Bangladesh Standard Time).
Earlier, Captain of Bangladesh Cricket team Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been ruled out from the series because the speedster got injury in his right ankle in the first ODI match against New Zealand October 5 at the same venue. Medium pacer Nazmul Hossain will not take part in the third ODI as he got injury in his finger when he tried to hold a ball in the first ODI against the Kiwis on the same day at the Stadium.
It is mentionable that dependable opener Tamim Iqbal could not take part in the ongoing series due to injury.
Bangladesh registered a nine-run win over New Zealand in the first ODI at the same venue.
The second ODI between Bangladesh and New Zealand was washed out by rain on October 8 at the same venue.
Thus, if Bangladesh win in the today’s clash, then, Bangladesh will at least level the series.
On the other hand, if New Zealand win in today’s affair, then they will keep hope alive to win the series.
It is note worthy that New Zealand have no injury. But plucky Bangladesh will play in their home soil and they will try their level best in today’s crucial encounter.
