The Bangladesh under-16 hockey team continued their sparkling form in the U-16 Hockey Asia Cup in Singapore to reach the final against Pakistan, to be played today.
Bangladesh confirmed their place in the final after overcoming Japan 8-5 in the semi-final on Saturday while Pakistan thumped Malaysia 6-0 in the other last-four clash on the same day.Bangladesh earlier sealed their semi-final spot after thrashing Korea 11-2 in their last Group B encounter to emerge as group champions.
Nayeem Uddin put five goals past Korea keeper while Deen Islam and Ashraful struck two goals each. Sagar and Roman netted one goal apiece for the boys in red and green.
The state minister for youth and sports, Ahad Ali Sarkar, sent a congratulatory message to the boys in Singapore for their splendid performance.
